Bichons are similar to poodles in terms of their powder-puff coat, which consists of a silky but curly outer coat and soft undercoat. They are white, white and buff, cream, apricot, or gray. The length of the bichon is somewhat longer than the height. The plumed tail is carried over the back. Bichons have heads that are well-proportioned to their bodies and drop ears. Their nose is pronounced and black. Both males and females of the breed stand just under 12 inches and weigh from seven to 12 pounds (three to six kilograms).
